Neither of the two applications before the Crystal River Planning Commission on Thursday received approval from the city’s Growth Management department or from the commissioners, who unanimously voted against each one.

The first application, submitted by Scott and Christine Johnson, sought a small-scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the Future Land Use Map (FLUM). They were requesting a change from Coastal Low Density Residential (CLDR) and Medium Density Residential (MDR) to Industrial (IND), or its functional equivalent, Special District (SP), for 17.29 acres of a 14.57-acre lot located at 4264 N. Tallahassee Road.
