COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Republican state senator pitched legislation Tuesday that would ban the sale of intoxicating hemp – smoked, edible or other products that are often marketed as marijuana-adjacent and sold at gas stations and convenience stores.

Sen. Steve Huffman, a Tipp City Republican and physician, repeatedly referred to such “delta-8” cannabis products and the like as “dangerous, untested and unregulated” at a hearing before the Senate General Government Committee.
