The numbers and design don’t seem to add up. 300W wind turbine and 120W solar

The numbers and design don't seem to add up. 300W wind turbine and 120W solar does not equal 500W even if they worked at peak.

Solar is buried behind the turbine on 3 sides which is a recipe for shade on one panel most of the time and 2 more half of the time. I don't get the purpose.
