UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Schreyer Honors College relies heavily on faculty volunteers to review the more than 2,000 first-year applications received each spring. The college is currently seeking additional faculty to join the Faculty Selection Committee for this admission cycle. Faculty members from any Penn State college or campus are eligible to participate.

Committee members read and rate approximately 40 applications, which is typically a 40-to-60-hour time commitment between mid-November to mid-January. The college provides a reader training to all new and returning readers.

The Faculty Selection Committee has been a significant part of the selection process for many years and is written into the Schreyer Honors College charter. Because of the growth in Schreyer’s applicant pool, the college has a great need to engage new faculty and significantly expand the number and diversity of the faculty readers.

Faculty interested in joining the Schreyer Honors College Faculty Selection Committee can email Deyo Olorunnisola, director of admissions for the Schreyer Honors College, at [email protected].
